When you overhear the name Himalayas, the images that spring to everyone’s mind are that of various beaches, mountains, rivers, getaways, and hill stations. It is the famous tourist spot in India and tourist from all over the world to stare at its goddess. One of the utmost allure in its many rivers that add extra awesomeness to the beautiful goddess of the state. This proposes about 5% from inside Indian rivers. They join the Ganga and move into the Bay of Bengal.

Five Sisters

Jhelum, Chenab, Beas, Ravi, and Sutlej are also distinguished as The Five Sisters. Previous to the distribution of India and the origin of Pakistan, this method of rivers was one of the several sensational features of the Indian subcontinent. Following the distribution of India, almost two-thirds of the extent of this river scheme was given over to Pakistan. However, the rivers yet flow through the Himalayas to get any of the several great backdrops to be observed at any point in the world.

The Indus

The Indus is one of the various major Himalayan streams. The river originates from a position near to the Mansarovar Lake in Tibet. It follows River Gurtang at an altitude of 4,200 meters in the southeastern portion of Ladakh. The pictorial Mansarovar Lake is the perfect place of magnificent splendour. It does not just create impressive to the travellers, but also a key interpretation into farming activities, heritage, and lives of people that are parasites on these lavish rivers.

The Jhelum

This river begins from a spring known as Verinag, which is placed at a range of 80 km to the south of Srinagar. The Jhelum River is famous all over the world for its beautiful characteristics and nine whists. It is noted for its amplitude and its water is dirty. The river runs over Srinagar.


Two rivers – Chandra and Bhaga relate to allowing this river. The river is recognised in the Lahaul region of the  Himachal Pradesh. The source of this river is located at the foothills of the Himalayan range in the Lahaul and Spiti regions of Himachal Pradesh. The attractive lake of Chandra Tal holds its inception in these rivers.


The Ravi River flows within both India and Pakistan. The beginning of the river is designated in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The town of Chamba is located on a hill elevation on the top bank of the river. The region is popular for handicrafts such as parchment craft, decorated tissues, plank woodcutting, and silver.


The Beas River performed an important part after the structure of the Kullu and Kangra basins. It is recognised for its pictorial features. However, it basically begins from an igloo-like construction in the area of Rohtang Pass in the north of Kullu in Pir Panjal range. The key bit of the Beas River is to the tropics of Larji and consequently to the west. In this section, it continues into the Mandi area and within the Kangra course.


The rivers of the Himalayas try a different characteristic to the scenic glory of the Himalayan field. All the rivers form a significant portion of the life of the ordinary people in those fields. These rivers support in the method of afforestation and farming in these regions.
